Machinable Ceramic is supplied as ceramic stock for prototypes, laboratory fixtures, equipment maintenance, field modifications, and small-series parts. It is intended for cases where dimensions may still need customer-side adjustment after the blank is received.
Core Advantages
Conventional Turning and Milling
Turning, milling, and grinding can be carried out with carbide or diamond tools. Outer profiles, pockets, and local fit surfaces can be adjusted on standard shop equipment when prototype or maintenance parts need changes after receipt.
Drilling and Tapping Capability
Drilling and tapping are possible in the machinable or semi-sintered state. Mounting holes, threaded connections, and fixture interfaces can be added or changed during trial assembly without machining a fully fired hard ceramic.
Semi-Sintered Processing Window
Material can be supplied semi-sintered or with machinable additives, and some grades receive a final heat treatment after machining. Local features are completed before the final ceramic condition, followed by the specified finishing heat cycle where required.
Customization
- Material Type
Material options include machinable alumina and machinable mica ceramic.
- Supply Form
Standard rods, plates, and tubes are available for downstream machining or prototype development.
- Pre-Machining Scope
Supply can be either a blank or a part with selected rough and near-final features already machined. Only the agreed local adjustments are left for the receiving shop.

Quality Control
Machinable blanks are checked for visible forming defects, edge damage, distortion, and section uniformity before release. The supplied processing state is identified so the required downstream finishing route is clear.
Pre-machined parts are measured against the agreed drawing for major dimensions, holes, threads, and other completed features. If the process includes a final heat cycle, dimensions are checked again after that step against the released specification.
Finished blanks and pre-machined pieces are cleaned and separated before packing to protect edges and machined surfaces. Batch and inspection records remain linked to the material and processing state supplied.
FAQ
Q: What is the delivery time for standard machinable ceramic sizes?
A: Standard sizes are normally scheduled in 7-15 days.
Q: What payment terms are available?
A: Standard orders use 30% deposit and 70% balance after acceptance; custom-made orders use 50% deposit and 50% balance.
Q: Do you provide machining guidance for customer-side processing?
A: Yes. Tool-selection and cutting-parameter guidance can be provided.
Q: Can small prototype quantities be ordered?
A: Yes. Prototype quantities can be discussed without a fixed MOQ.
