Description

Zirconia Structural Ceramics are load-bearing parts made from 3Y-TZP or Ce-TZP for structures that need impact resistance, wear resistance and controlled fit. Applications include automation equipment, robot assemblies, shafts, rollers, sleeves, supports and positioning mechanisms where the ceramic itself carries mechanical load.

Core Advantages

900–1200 MPa Flexural Strength with 8–12 MPa·m¹/² Toughness

Flexural strength is 900–1200 MPa and fracture toughness is 8–12 MPa·m¹/². For edge-loaded, impact-prone or repeatedly stressed structures, this combination helps slow crack growth and reduces the risk of sudden brittle failure.

1200–1400 HV Hardness at 5.9–6.05 g/cm³ Density

Hardness is 1200–1400 HV at a density of 5.9–6.05 g/cm³. Shafts, rollers and loaded sliding interfaces benefit from a dense, hard body that resists local indentation and wear under repeated mechanical loading.

Structural Tolerance of ±0.01 to ±0.03 mm

Structural tolerance is ±0.01 to ±0.03 mm. Concentric, bearing, locating and mating features can be finished around the functional datum when the ceramic must assemble directly with metal hardware.

Customization

  • Zirconia System

Structural grades include 3Y-TZP and Ce-TZP. The choice depends on the required balance of strength, fracture resistance and service environment.

  • Structural Part Range

Custom parts can include shafts, rollers, sleeves, supports, rings and irregular load-bearing forms. Multi-hole, stepped, slotted and other non-standard profiles can be produced from the released drawing.

  • Finishing Scope

Grinding, drilling, slotting and polishing are available after sintering. Working surfaces, concentric features, locating faces and assembly interfaces are finished according to the function of the component.

Quality Control

Forming and sintering are controlled as the stages that establish the structural ceramic body. After firing, parts are checked for cracks, edge damage and distortion before precision finishing, with straightness and load-bearing sections receiving closer review.

Final inspection covers shaft diameters, bores, concentric features, locating shoulders, support faces and other datums that control load alignment or movement. Surface chips and edge damage are evaluated with the dimensional results rather than being treated as appearance issues only.

All finished parts are inspected before packing. Third-party inspection can be arranged for independent verification, and inspection records remain linked to the relevant production batch and shipment.
