Description

Ceramic Seal Rings are alumina or zirconia rings for mechanical and end-face sealing assemblies. They are used in pumps, reactor agitators, compressors, and other rotating equipment where a hard ceramic face runs against a mating ring.

Core Advantages

Optical-Band Flatness for Seal Faces

Seal end-face flatness is specified at <=0.0009 mm, equivalent to one optical interference band, with surface roughness at <=0.05 µm Ra. The lapped face limits local gaps that can form leakage paths across a rotating face-seal interface.

Hardness for Repeated Face Contact

Hardness is specified at HV 1400-1700, with density of 3.8-6.0 g/cm³ across the alumina and zirconia options. The hard ceramic surface is intended to retain face geometry during repeated rotation against the mating ring.

Ceramic Operation in Heated Seal Assemblies

The listed maximum working temperature is 1400°C for alumina and 1500°C for zirconia. These rings can remain rigid at seal locations exposed to hot equipment or elevated process temperatures where polymeric seal-face materials may soften.

Customization

  • Main Ring Dimensions

Inner diameter, outer diameter, and thickness can be produced to the confirmed installation dimensions.

  • Locating Features

Locating steps, grooves, and other assembly features can be added to match the seal arrangement.

  • Size Type

Standard and non-standard ring sizes can be produced from a confirmed drawing or sample.

Quality Control

Sintered rings are checked for cracks, edge damage, deformation, and surface defects before lapping or polishing. Pieces with defects that could open into the seal face are removed before final finishing.

Every finished ring is checked for end-face flatness, surface roughness, and full dimensions before shipment. The seal face and installation geometry are inspected against the released drawing as separate control areas.

Final cleaning removes residue from lapping and handling. Finished faces are protected from direct ceramic-to-ceramic contact during packing, and accepted pieces remain linked to their inspection results and production batch.

FAQ

Q: What is your MOQ for ceramic seal rings?

A: There is no fixed quantity limit; order quantity and price are agreed for each project.

Q: What payment terms are available?

A: Standard orders use 30% deposit and 70% balance after acceptance; custom-made orders use 50% deposit and 50% balance.

Q: What operating data should be provided for seal-ring selection?

A: Media, temperature, pressure, and rotational speed.

Q: Can matched seal-ring pairs be supplied?

A: Yes. Pair matching can be controlled for face precision and finish.
